adventures in new amsterdam

my daily adventures while working in manhattan for 8 weeks!

Day 49

AN EPIC NYC DAY.

So today was the last Saturday that we had while in session this summer. Next week is my last week here. So its a good thing we did it right.

I started the day by waking up early for my Riverside park running ritual and then woke up Chris to see what we should do for lunch. I reluctantly agreed to accompanying him to Five Guys and barely ate the cheeseburger, however I will admit it was damn good. We then met up with some other IBC-ers and went down to the Highline Park Roller rink, to roller skate for free! After everyone grew weary, they yanked me out of the rink and we caught the train to the South St Sea Port for the Mad Decent Block Party. Once we got there though, everyone was super hungry. However, Bina and I just wanted to get into the throng of people and get our dance on.

Day 44

Today I had to take my second session group of Architecture kids on the Highline Park trip. I took advantage of the local and went shopping in Chelsea. I found a cute T by Alexander Wang skirt and a pair of House of Harlow purple velvet flats, at Scoop NYC. I then met my fellow TA Adam in Chelsea Market for some lunch at Friedman’s. Afterwards, I perused the restaurant supply store in Chelsea market for some apartment stuff. Found some goodies but nothing too major.

Day 40

Woke up early and ran and then fixed my flight home because I have to fly into San Antonio instead of Houston, to see my brother graduate from AIT training. *sigh* another 200 dollars for AirTran, yikes. Airfare this summer will be the death of my bank account. Today is my friend, Chris’s 21st birthday so I ventured out to get him a keychain bottle opener, ya know standard 21 yr old gift haha. But I helped the senior staff plan a surprise birthday surprise for him.
